This is a distance-learning course developed to ensure that On-site Assessors have the skills and knowledge to prepare for and conduct assessment in the workplace. The course is completed on-site and can be started at any time and completed at a pace to suit the learner. Once the subscription has been paid there are no processing fees on this course.
People who successfully complete this course will gain the following unit standards on the National Qualifications Framework:
All potential Assessors will need to complete this Assessor Application Form
and send into the Health Ed Trsut office.
The assessor will need to provide the following evidence:
- The assessor must have a knowledge base at or above the National Certificate in Support of the Older Person. For example, be a registered nurse; an enrolled nurse; a senior caregiver, Manager or Supervisor.
- Additional skills also required include: proven people skills (such as supervision of staff); communication skills (written and verbal); record keeping skills; lifting and positioning skills; and for dementia education, knowledge and experience in dementia care.
