This programme is ending in 2010. If you have students working on this programme please encourage them to complete it as soon as possible. Most of these unit standards are able to be cross credited to the new qualifications. Please ask Health Ed Trust how to go about this.
An option to purchase three unit standards in one easy package.
Health Ed Trust (ACE) provides Unit Standards 5012, 5019, 5020 in a separate package to enable you to meet Certification requirements.
- This 3 unit standard option is only to be used in conjunction with the ACE Dementia Series. Please refer to course information for the ACE Dementia Series.
- The ACE Dementia Series includes unit standard 17029, which is also required for care staff in Specialized Dementia Units.
- Train as many carer’s as you need for a once only fee of $350.
- No additional processing fee applies to the three unit standard package.
- While funding is available, Health Ed Trust will pay the credit fees for the unit standards.
The Health and Disability Services (Safety) Act came into effect on 1st October 2002. Under this Act, residential care providers will be audited for Certification and the audit will include staff education standards.
In addition most providers are operating under the new Ministry of Health ARRC Contract that states Specialised Dementia Unit care staff are required to achieve unit standards 5012, 5019, 5020 and 17029.
It is important that you can demonstrate to the Ministry of Health and the Designated Audit Agencies that you are currently training your caregivers to the prescribed standards. The retention of your contract and the reputation of your business requires you to be actively involved in a comprehensive education programme.
The ACE Dementia Series and this package cover all of these requirements and are remarkably cost effective.
