ACE Fastrack Dementia Programme

This programme will end in October 2010. If you have students working on this programme please encourage them to complete it as soon as possible. Most of these unit standards are able to be cross credited to the new qualifications. Please ask Health Ed Trust how to go about this.

New Specialised Demenita Unit Standards
The four new dementia unit standards required for staff who work in specialised Dementia care have been placed on the NZQA framework. If students have completed The ACE Dementia Series they will be able to cross credit to these four new unit standards. These four are 23920, 23921, 23922 and 23923.
Staff may also complete the current ACE Dementia Series to achieve these unit standards.

Please contact Health Ed Trust if you wish to complete this process. The new unit standards will also be included in the new ACE Dementia Series (version 2). There are no pre requisites for this programme.

ACE Fastrack Programme

No pre requisites are required for the new unit standards therefore the ACE Fastrack Programme is no longer required for staff who work in Specialised Dementia units.

The Fastrack Programme contained unit standards 5012, 5019, 5020 and 17029 and was orginally designed for staff wishing to meet the legal requirements of the ARRC Contract. These qualifications were in the National Certificate in Support of the Older Person.  The four new Dementia unit standards (see above) are in the ACE Dementia Series.
